SeaMate is live. You can download it right now on the App Store.
It's a marine navigation app for iPhone — built for sailors, boaters, and anyone who spends time on the water and needs tools they can actually trust when it matters. Full offline-capable NOAA charts. Live tides and currents. An AI captain that knows the water. Safety tools that don't require a cell signal.
Here's what it does.
NOAA vector charts for all US waters
SeaMate covers all nine US coastal regions — Atlantic, Gulf, Pacific, Great Lakes, and more — using official NOAA ENC vector charts. They work offline. You download the regions you need before you leave the dock, and from that point on the charts are on your device. No cell signal required on the water.
The charts are the same data source the Coast Guard uses. They update when NOAA updates them.
What's included
- Anchor Watch — set a drag radius and SeaMate alerts you if you've moved outside it. Runs in the background so you can sleep.
- Live Tides & Currents — real-time tide predictions and current data for stations across US waters, pulled from NOAA.
- AI Captain — ask it anything about your passage: weather windows, anchorages, bridge clearances, route advice. It knows the water.
- Bridge Clearance — look up vertical clearances for bridges along your route before you get there.
- Man Overboard (MOB) — one tap marks the position instantly. Works offline. No confirmation screens.
- MAYDAY Tools — DSC distress format, Coast Guard contact info, and emergency protocols — available even without a connection.
- Solunar Tables — moonrise, moon set, and moon transit times for fishing and passage planning.
Why we built it
Good marine navigation software is expensive, complicated, or both. The apps that are actually capable cost hundreds of dollars a year. The free ones cut corners in places that matter — outdated charts, missing safety features, no offline support.
We wanted to build something that a solo sailor or a family on a cruising boat could actually afford and actually rely on. Not a toy. Not a subscription trap. A real tool, priced fairly, that works when you need it.
SeaMate is that app.
What's next
We're already working on what comes after launch — more chart regions, deeper weather integration, and features the sailing community has been asking for. If you have feedback, we want to hear it. Use the support form on our site or find us on social.
Get on the water. We'll be here.
